Training & Employment
In 2002, the Apatisiiwin Agreement (Paix des Braves) was signed between the Crees of Eeyou Istchee and Hydro-Quebec. An important section of this Agreement states that Hydro-Quebec will hire a minimum of 150 qualified Cree employees by 2017.
To help with this mandate, Niskamoon has partnered up with the Cree School Board and created the TEHQ TRAINING PROGRAM. This training program provides the necessary skills to enter the workforce at Hydro-Quebec.
