Winter walks and journey

These projects were primarily carried out by youths to retrace and renew with their ancestors’ way of life during wintertime.

A total amount of $50,000 was committed for these projects for the year 2008-2009, as follows:

• 2008-021: Eastmain Winter Walks 2008: $10,000
• 2008-030: Waskaganish Youth Council Aashuumiih Winter Journey 2008: $10,000
• 2008-129: Wemindji Nashababichju 2009 Youth Winter Journey: $10,000
• 2009-027: Whapmagoostui Winter Journey 2009: $10,000
• 2009-028: Waskaganish Aashuumiih Winter Journey 2009: $10,000
